Kemper Baum
Paraplanner / Tax Assistant
​Kemper joined the FSM Team in 2025 as a paraplanner and tax assistant. He graduated from CU Boulder in 2024 with a degree in personal financial planning. He originally studied finance, but was pulled into the personal financial planning realm because he was interested in developing personal relationships and working alongside clients. In 2025, Kemper earned his Series 65 license allowing him to train as an Investment Advisor Representative. He believes people are more than their numbers, and that finances should be a stepping stone instead of a hindrance. He is excited to get to know our clients and grow alongside them.

About Kemper
Kemper loves all that Colorado has to offer. From East Texas, he moved to Colorado for college and stayed for the outdoor activities. A certified REI Co-Op member, he loves visiting Ouray for ice climbing and Canyon City for rafting. His wife has hiked 48 of the 58 14ers in Colorado, so he’s got some catching up to do. It’s hard to love the outdoors so much when he’s literally allergic to the sun, but it doesn’t slow him down.

Kemper has been to over 40 countries. He was a crew chief in the Navy for six years before moving to Colorado, but—Fun Fact—in all that time, he never set foot on a boat! It was an incredible opportunity for travel; so far, his favorite countries have been Japan, Ireland, Germany, and Iceland. Patagonia is next on the bucket list, and when he makes it there, he’ll also tick of his sixth continent! (Watch out, Antarctica, he’s comin’ for ya!)

A double oven was a non-negotiable for Kemper. He wanted to be a chef when he was a kid, so it was a must-have for his home. One of his cooking highlights was a prime rib with Yorkshire pudding he made for Christmas dinner—we’re hoping he’ll cater some future FSM events. In the meantime, his ultimate cheat code for anyone trying to whip up a good meal? Air fryer!
