Controller / Benefits Administrator
Claire is the accounting and payroll specialist at FSM. She handles all of the internal Accounting, Payroll and Human Resource requirements. She also provides accounting and payroll services to several of FSM's small business clients. She enjoys the variety that accompanies working with different client entities, particularly the training aspect - those "lightbulb moments" when a client understands the "why" of maintaining accurate accounting records that provide the knowledge and confidence necessary to deal with the complexities of the tax process.

About Claire
Prior to working at FSM Claire worked as a staff analyst for both the Federal Reserve Bank and Anderson Consulting in Denver. She took some time to then pursue the most difficult job ever: raising two kids! She has two adult sons, one who is a GI doctor in Detroit and another who is a mobile vet here in Colorado. She then gradually got back into the accounting world, eventually joining the FSM family.

She has called Colorado home since 1984 and currently lives in Golden, the absolute perfect spot for Claire. Sitting right on the foothills, Golden is so convenient for all of her passions: hiking, biking, and skiing. Her backyard is basically a playground! Claire and her family love spending quality time together, usually outdoors, and even have a tradition of going on family hikes the morning of every holiday.

Claire also loves healthy cooking! She finds it exciting and challenging to modify and improve her favorite recipes into "nutritional powerhouses". She loves making everything as healthy as possible, especially desserts and comfort food. This includes improving the nutritional profile of even the humble chocolate chip cookie: a touch of honey, almond flour, eggs and olive oil. Oh, and chocolate chips, of course.
