Client FAQ - Tax Preparation Transition

Why is FSM no longer offering tax-only services?

FSM is focusing fully on holistic financial planning and advisory services. This allows us to better serve clients who are seeking integrated, long-term financial guidance.

Who will prepare my 2025 tax return?

A new, carefully-selected tax firm will take over tax preparation services beginning with your 2025 return. Due to confidentiality agreements, we will disclose the name of this firm by January 15, but we carefully vetted them for both capability and values and are confident in both their ability and character.

Where is the new firm located?

They will be operating from the same location you’re familiar with:
2535 S. Lewis Way, Suite 101—Lower Level.

What if I don't do anything?

No action is required at this time. If you do nothing, we will share your information with the successor firm and they will contact you directly mid-January. You can determine at that time if you want to continue to work with them—no obligation on your part.

Will my information be shared automatically?

Yes, your tax information will be securely transferred to the successor firm beginning January 10 unless you choose to opt out.

I already have a different plan—how do I opt out if I won’t need the new firm?

Simply email tax@fsm-inc.com by January 9 to let us know. We will close your accounts and not share your information with the new firm.

What happens to my existing Tax Agreement with FSM?

Your Tax Agreement with FSM will be formally dissolved as part of this transition.

Can FSM still help if I have questions about prior returns?

Yes. FSM remains available to assist with any state or IRS issues related to tax returns we previously prepared for you.

Can I still work with FSM for financial planning?

Absolutely! We would be happy to continue supporting you through comprehensive financial planning and advisory services. Please reach out to schedule a Discover Meeting.
